Installing Xen on Ubuntu 6.06 (based on debian)
Just a note on the resources that worked for me.
I installed on a really cheap (sub-$400) Compaq Presario AMD Sempron 3400+. Used the Ubuntu distro in the Linux Format 'Ubuntu special', and followed the update instructions in that mag.
Then used this great cut-and-paste stepwise guide:
How To Set Up Xen 3.0 From Binaries In Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake)
It worked. There's no greater praise. A long sequence, but certainly educational.
Additionally, this was a useful read:
Create a Debian VM with debootstrap
And this is essential reading for actual use of the Xen:
Xen 3.0 User's Manual
